Regan Strom Founding Partners John Regan and Jeffrey Strom Named 2026 Leaders in the Law
05/07/2026
We are proud to share that Regan Strom founding partners Jeffrey Strom and John Regan have been selected by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly as 2026 Leaders in the Law, recognized in the Top Verdicts & Settlements category for the firm’s $14 million class settlement in Marandino v. Peterson Oil Service, Inc. — named one of the top settlements of 2025 in the Commonwealth1.
The Leaders in the Law honor recognizes the attorneys whose work in the prior year stood out across Massachusetts. To be counted among that group, is a meaningful affirmation of what Regan Strom set out to be: a focused, high-impact plaintiffs’ firm that takes on the Commonwealth’s hardest cases and wins them.
The recognition from the work our firm did in the Peterson Oil matter reflects years of investigation, expert development, and litigation on behalf of homeowners and property owners harmed by Peterson Oil Service. The $14 million settlement honored by Lawyers Weekly is one of several recoveries the Regan Strom team has secured for the class, bringing total settlements in that litigation to approximately $19.6 million, a result that reaffirms the firm’s standing as one of the leading plaintiffs’ practices in Massachusetts for complex litigation.
For Strom, the recognition cuts close to the work itself. “I am honored and humbled to be mentioned alongside the many amazing lawyers and law firms in this year’s class,” he said. “But, to me, the real award from the Marandino case was being able to provide millions of dollars of needed relief to the families and home owners we represent. That is why Regan Strom strives to be the firm clients turn to when the stakes are highest.” Regan credits the clients first. “This recognition belongs to the people who put their trust in us at a difficult moment, and to every member of our team who refused to let this case go quietly,” he said. “Jeff and I built Regan Strom on the conviction that a focused firm could go toe-to-toe with anyone when the cause is right — and the Peterson Oil result is proof of that.”
Founded in 2024 by John Regan and Jeffrey Strom, Regan Strom focuses on representing individuals, not big businesses, in employment, consumer protection, and complex business litigation. The firm pairs the highest-caliber “big firm” litigation with the personal attention of small one, and its partners routinely take on, and beat, the largest and most prominent law firms in Massachusetts and across the country. The 2025 Peterson Oil settlements anchor a track record that places Regan Strom among the Commonwealth’s leading plaintiffs’ boutiques.
Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly will recognize all 2026 honorees at the Leaders in the Law awards reception on Thursday, May 21, 2026, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Aloft Boston Seaport District. Regan Strom is also proud to serve as a Congratulatory Sponsor of this year’s event.
Congratulations to our fellow honorees, and our deepest thanks to the clients, colleagues, and co-counsel who make this work possible. At Regan Strom, we fight for justice for the underdog — and we are proud to see that work recognized.
1 The total settlement of this matter was $19.6 million but $14 million of the total was received in 2025.
